Pros and cons
Pros
Research into the Catskill Ripper
The writing of the Catskill Ripper
Killing time in the Catskills – The twisted tale of the Catskill Ripper Elizabeth “Lizzie” McNally Halliday got written with flowing words making it an easy and enjoyable read. Besides, no academic wording is used, which makes the book an exciting read for all who want to look into the compelling case of Elizabeth Halliday. At the end of the book, we received a bibliography making it easy to look into the sources Mr. Owen has used for penning his book. The book is gripping as the reader from time to time will feel who is the crazy one; is it the reader who speculates on how a person can be both insane and sane at the same time or was it Lizzie who so quickly became a historical serial killer? The little twist while reading gives the book that little extra most of us real crime buffs enjoy.

Like I a lot of you true-crime aficionados/fans want to know if a book contains images. In the Killing time in the Catskills – the twisted tale of the Catskill Ripper Elizabeth “Lizzie” McNally Halliday, the author provides us with photographs and sketches which give us the readers the feeling of looking into the crime ourselves.
Cons
I enjoyed reading this book; it gave me an exciting look into a long lost area of crime and how it got handled. However, when Owen mentions previously written information, I missed footnotes so I could go back and restudy the info.
