Princess Diana – murder or an accident

Diana: Case Solved – The Definitive Account That Proves What Really Happened

I have always wondered if Princess Diana was murder or it was an accident. So when I saw the title of this book even before it had a book cover, I had no doubt in my mind this book would be one I had to read. The authors have, among other people, gotten help from retired crime scene detectives and forensic pathologists to give us a look into what happened on that faithful day in 1997.

Ever since the tragic day on August 31, 1997, not only the people of Britain but the entire world have scratched their heads, wondering if the Queen of Hearts got involved in an accident or if she got murdered. The conspiracies have been many, and a lot of people would like to know the truth about what happened in the Tunnel of France the day Lady Diana passed away at the age of only 36 years.

In the book Diana: Case Solved – The Definitive Account That Proves What Really Happened, the authors, Dylan Howard and Colin McLaren, promises us to give us the truth and let us know if what became the case of Princess Diana was murder or an accident. Now let’s take a look an see if the truth will finally get revealed.

What I liked about the book

Princess Diana – murder or an accident

Diana: Case solved – The Definitive Account That Proves What Really Happened

I love how the authors explain to us what might have lead to some people; not only the royals might have been interested in killing Diana. One possibility could have been her charity work for HIV and landmines. However, I won’t make any spoilers, but I can reveal that Diana speaking so frankly about the arms industry got her under surveillance by the CIA and others.

Furthermore, the authors take an in-depth look into why the British Royals might have had an interest in Diana’s death. Howard and McLaren explain about dark sex secrets behind the walls of Buckingham Palace as well as we learn that after Diana and Prince Charles divorced, Lady Di was no longer under the protection of the Royal bodyguards.

I like how Mr.Howard and Mr.McLaren do some exciting investigation. And how they have a sense of self-irony in their wording as it places a little light into a very dark subject.

What I disliked about the book

Princess Diana – murder or an accident

Diana: Case Solved -The Definitive Account That Proves What Really Happened

When it comes to what I disliked about the book, I have to mention some of the intimate pieces of information about Diana’s sex life were unnecessary for us as readers. Some Diana fans who weren’t aware of the information might even find that information slanderous or even think the authors are soiling her memory.

Besides, the authors mention multiple sources to their research; however, we receive no references and no confirmation on the causes. I do understand if some people want to be anonymous, but with the number of sources, the book would have had more credibility if some of them had gotten confirmed.

Summary

The book Diana: Case Solved – The Definitive Account That Proves What Really Happened were a bit dry; however, the authors might be on to something. Howard and McLaren provide us with a lot of information on my behalf information I had never heard before; this made the book enjoyable. But at some spots during the read, I sensed a glimpse of sensation writing. Besides it, seemed like the authors are “spilling the tea” (a line often used on YouTube meaning sharing gossip) in their eagerness to share information. Therefore some readers might find the book to be more about gossip than real journalistic and investigation.

Do we get the answer and prove to what happened to Princess Diana on August 31, 1997, in the  Pont de l’Alma tunnel in France? Well, not really, but we get an idea of what might have happened and why.
