Bookish gifts for christmas

Today we will take a look at awesome bookish gift ideas for Christmas 2020

Before giving you our best shot at bookish gift ideas for Christmas, we will tell you a little bit about who is behind Noir Crime and how we have decided to do book reviews without affiliations or advertisements.

Today, many bookstores are closed, and more and more people have become self-publishers; therefore, finding the right book has become quite difficult as there are hardly any bookstores you can turn to for advice. After that, the internet has boomed with book blogs giving readers advice. As a result, some bloggers might be biased in their reviews (not all, of course) as authors often offer a free book in exchange for a review.

People always say they are sincere when they do reviews but believe me; it´s quite difficult being honest when you have received a book in exchange for a review; years back, I went down the same path offering reviews in exchange for a book. I had affiliated links on my blog, but because I felt bad about doing reviews that way, and as a result, I closed my blog and started Noir Crime.

Please let us know if you like our bookish gift ideas for Christmas 2020.

Noir Crime is a 100 % affiliated free book review page on a 100% advertisement free site.

Note

Please note the bookish gift ideas for Christmas 2020 are placed randomly and not because the first pick is better than the last selected book.

The book The Evil Within was penned by Darren Galsworthy, the victim’s father, Becky Watts. Rebecca Watts got only 16-years-old when she was brutally attacked by her stepbrother, who murdered and mutilated her dead body.

The Evil Within is a heartbreaking true story about a loving family and the upbringing of the children Darren and his wife brought into the little family. The Short Life of Brandy Duvall

The short life and brutal death of Brandaline Duvall

No Angles

No Angels: The short life and brutal death of Brandaline Rose Duvall

The book No Angles: The short life and brutal death of Brandaline Rose Duvall got written by Steve Jackson. Furthermore, due to this awful crime’s graphic nature, the author had to stop looking into real crime cases for years.

No Angels: The short life and brutal death of Brandaline Rose Duvall is a gruesome true tale about the torture, rape, and murder of the only 14-year-old Brandy Duvall. What was done to Brandy is so awful it´s difficult to understand how anybody could be capable of those evil deeds. And the only trigger was the red Chicago Bulls Jersy t-shirt Brandy was wearing that faithful day.

Killing time in the Catskill

Killing time in the Catskill

Here we have a book for those who have an interest in historical real crime books. Killing time in the Catskill got written by Kevin Owen. As a result of Mr. Owen living close to where the Catskill murders got committed, he has an amazing insight into the case.

Killing time in the Catskill leads us back to the 1800 century to learn about a sinister killer named Lizzie Halliday. As a result of the Lizzie Borden murders, the heinous murders committed by Lizzie Halliday might have been forgotten.

However, the Catskill case is as interesting as the Borden case, so this is a book I absolutely have to mention. Who was Lizzie Halliday? was she crazy, or was she calculating and smart?

Bonus recommendation

Here is a bonus bookish gift idea for Christmas 2020

The Psychology of Pandemics

The Psychology of Pandemics

The Psychology of Pandemics

As we live in uncertain times with the Corona Pandemic, I thought it would be quite obvious to give you a bonus recommendation this year.

The Psychology of Pandemics got written by Steven Taylor, who gives insight into what a pandemic really is; furthermore, we learn about what to do rather not to do in the case of a pandemic.

Some of the information we are familiar with as we live through the Corona Pandemic; most noteworthy, the book will give you an in-depth look into pandemics in general.

The Psychology of Pandemics got penned before the Coronavirus became a Pandemic; hence the main focus will be other pandemics like the Spanish Flue from 1918.

The book recommended here might not be for all readers. Still, due to the Coronavirus, people who normally wouldn´t think of reading a book like the Psychology of Pandemics might find it rather interesting.

The Psychology of Pandemics will give the reader a look at how come there will be people who make conspiracy theories and, above all, give insight into how the news media and social media influence how the public reacts to what will be recommended by the government.

If you want to know more about the book, please read the entire review; you find it right here.
